Gloria Machado León 19 julio, 2013

The lack of a total energy management system in Mario Muñoz sugar mill, from Los Arabos, along with its condition of being one of the most energy consuming industries all over the country led to the application of an energy rational use program. It guarantees the saving as well as a decrease in the production costs.

One of the examples of it is the packet of measurements which mainly comprises lining piping, hermeticism in air conditioned rooms and the wastage of vapor through the orifices.

These actions not only have saved a volume of kilowatt equivalent to more than 620 thousand pesos, but also a better preparation of the staff who works in highly consuming areas such as: vapor generation, mill, boiler has been accomplished.

According to Cándida Panadés Fernández, saving and rational energy use technician in Los Arabos territory, with this equipment it is consumed the 87.2% of the total electricity absorbed during the sugar producing process.

This program, added the specialist will be extended to Mario Muñoz sugar mill upkeep and repairs period, in which electrical welding is strongly used.

Hence the importance of keeping on the monitoring and control system in the key positions in order to decrease physical consume index through the binnacle, operations guides and the primary registers.
