“If it is about sugar cane, the sugar cane factory Jesús Rabí of Calimete, in Matanzas province, can produce the 41 thousand 660 tons of sugar planned for this year”, said engineer Armando Lovelle, director of the Basic Business Unit of attention to the producers.
At the end of last September the estimate was 71 tons of sugar cane per hectare, which should give an output of 498 000 137 tons of the product, enough for the factory to accomplish its commitment.
“According to the September outlook, the unit is still with the best plantations in the country, with a rate which exceeds the national average by several tons and even the advantaged ones” said the director.
Nevertheless the unit has enough acreage, it continues to grow in plantations, and this year has a commitment to cultivate 1471 hectares, figure that exceeds by 191 the previous season.
