The 2012 Cuban National Award of Quality was granted in Havana to the International Economic Association Aguas Varadero and other two companies by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
Elba Rosa Perez Montoy, the head office, announced that this award was also granted to the Enterprises Hydraulic Projects and Investigation from Holguin and Design of Havana City for their achievements in the use of systems of quality to succeed in their economic efficiency.
The delivery of the award was held in the opening of the VIII International Symposium of Quality 2013 that will take place until next Friday in the Convention Palace of Havana with the attendance of more than 400 delegates and 15 different countries.
For the current edition of the award delivery, the categories of new enterprises and of those that have kept this condition for several years were established.
The Investigation and Hydraulic Projects Enterprise from Holguin that is part of the system of the Hydraulic Resources National Institute is one of the top in the development of the sector thanks to the experienced and creative work of their eastern provinces ‘staff.
Celia Katiuska Lorenzo, director of the organization that got the prize in the category of new, emphasized that the results in the project of the Trasvase Este –Oeste , which is considered the top work of the hydraulic engineering on the island due to its complexity and importance, deserves this recognition.
The prize also highlights the culture of quality that has prevailed for years in the enterprise organizational strategy, demonstrated in the stability and solidity of the certified Integrated System of Management, Lorenzo said.
For those efforts, the company has been given other awards like the provincial Environment Prize in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions, and the National prize of the Cuban Office of the Industrial Property Prize for the brand RAUDAL.
Until next Friday, academics, business men, and specialists will get together to exchange experiences about the application of management methods and their impact in health, tourism, commerce and energy, among other sectors.
