Council of Churches calls for a better Cuba

Once the Christmas concert , which took place at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Matanzas, concluded the President of the Council of Churches of Cuba , Joel Ortega Dopico urged Cubans to build a better world , a better country, preaching as challenges Christian .

» Celebrate this time is more than us gifts or decorate trees » meant. «It’s more to life as it is lived in many places in the world , buying and selling a commercial product called Christmas. »

He said that the true meaning of God incarnate beyond , is in the unity and peace of human beings.

» The incarnate God who challenges us , he insisted, is the one in Cuba today also , in their factories , research centers and work in their fields and among their families. This is the God who wants Cuba ‘s better , that we transform our lives and our society … »

The Christmas concert starred as the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa, accompanied by PAX DEI Evangelical Coral . Played pieces of religious music heritage to obtain attendees ovations marked by the virtuosity of the musicians and vocalists delivery .

The PAX DEI was founded during the 90 created by the Council of Churches of Cuba . In his first presentation shared the stage with the Symphony Orchestra of Matanzas and this time they sang for the first time a complete cantata with the National Symphony .

They attended the concert Rebeca Morales, member of the Executive Bureau of the provincial Party Committee ; Mysleidis Denis , vice president of the People’s Assembly in Matanzas , and Dr. Reinerio Arce Valentín , rector of the Evangelical Seminary , the only institution on the island dedicated to training ecumenical theological .
