Gloria Machado León 25 febrero, 2014

The righthanded Yosvany Torres was reaffirmed as the most winner pitcher of the 53erd National Baseball Series by beating the Gators of  Matanzas in a close game that ended with a final score of two to one .

Once again it was shown that a game is not like the other , as the harsh punishment Vueltabajo received the previous day .

The Alfonso Urquiola´s disciples needed the win at all costs , to stay in the top three in the standings and Torres did not disappoint the trust ‘s director, to achieve his eleventh win of the tournament with only two losses .

On the opposite trench the peppery Victor Mesa sent  Yoel Suarez to the box  , who is not performing properly in the championship. However Suarez threw a great game and in seven and two-thirds innig allowed pair of touchdowns , but could not give the victory to Matanzas .

In the rescue came the best closer in Cuba today, Calos J. Viera , who could not dominate Lorenzo Quintana in the eighth, with the advantage at third base.

On offense excelled Donal Duarte and Lorenzo Quintana , who batted from four to two , by locals. While Victor by Victor Mesa Matanzas connected to three to two and still unstoppable at the plate in the second stage .

After this result Matanzas problems remain atop the standings with 41 wins and 23 defeats. Today these sets hit again from 7:15 PM in the Captain San Luís own stadium .

This confrontation favors the Gators , who have defeated three of the five games held so far , it is important to note that four of those games have ended up outside a race.
