The Center for the Book and Literature in Matanzas perform a journey of book presentations by several municipalities Matanzas , to celebrate the anniversaries of the UJC and the José Martí Pioneers Organization .
The initiative called «A Journey with The Blue Coachman » will spread through the territories of Limonar, Union de Reyes and Pedro Betancourt on 4th and 5th April, with launches and sales of texts devoted to children and young people , reports the Portal de la Culture Matancera.
This cultural event is a tribute to the known volume of the Matanzas author, Dora Alonso, described by critics as a classic written for children on the Island visited spaces reading literature is promoted in schools and institutions , and the participation of artists from different art forms is expected .
Dora Alonso ( Matanzas, 1910 – Havana, 2001) was storyteller , poet and journalist, considered one of the most important writers for children. It is the small Cuban author most translated and published abroad . Obtained before dying the National Literature Prize .
