Just in that important street from  Matanzas, which is  Tirry´s street  , so full of history, was born on March 26th, 1916 , Violeta Casal y  Pérez , who can be named without fear of equivocation Voice of the Revolution.

He studied at Matanzas and here in the Sauto made ​​his first steps on the ancient stage. Then, with a scholarship , he went to study Dramatic Arts in Havana .

In Havana reached laurels in difficult roles as Juana of Castile, Yerma Lorca and the Circle . He also represented the country in other scenarios such as in Mexico and Guatemala , always with rave reviews from the press. In the 1949-1950 season , yet still a student, Violet Casal is selected as the best actress of the year .

Before the coup of 10 March and the beginning of the armed struggle against the tyrant Violet , with his brother Manolo , joins the fight, to the point that has to go to the Sierra Maestra and assigned to the working group the station Radio Rebelde . Since that time his voice was identified to the station every day spreading the truth of the Revolution.

After the fall of the tyrant joins different tasks. Vilma case with the Federation of Cuban Women, representing Cuba in international events and other activities .

He died on October 28th, 1992 .
