The charms of my city
Gloria Machado León 12 septiembre, 2016
Matanzas is certainly a city of many aesthetic values in its architecture, layout and equity contributions. A city that during the nineteenth century received the epithet of Athens Cuba for its splendor. However, today the reality is different.
Zenén Calero, designer: I have traveled a lot, especially in our country, from one end to the other, I always thought that Matanzas is one of the most dazzling territories that have in the island for its charm around the bay; It is like an amphitheater where visual all are beautiful, from Havana, from Varadero, from anywhere you look you surprised. I think it is a city that you need is to look after her.

Lilian Padron, director of Spiral Dance: Matanzas, as Marta Valdes said, is the city that lacked the world, a beautiful town, so I always live here until I die. It’s a shame that it is so neglected.
“Slow Matanzas: I love
Rotten lichens,
your rayoneros, your covenants
with golden twilights … “
Beyond the troubles that are perceived from the world of culture, the entire population calls for actions to rescue this Matanzas town and do change the current pseudonym Asleep City.
Lilian Padron: There are economic problems that prevent fix things that bring resources but the cleanliness of a city has nothing to do with large sums of money, at least not with the freely convertible currency; it relates to currency that should have every matancero in their actions, in their daily lives, in their love for him, to the city and to other people. It’s like Cinderella, she was beautiful but it was as sooty not seen, then I think that we, the matanceros not need that story.
Ramon Pacheco, photographer: Matanzas intelligence needs people that take account of tourism, recreation of the inhabitants and the trigger; San Juan river is not exploited, nor Canímar and shore boardwalk to the court either. With a little to be done for her every day this town can change a lot.

Hopefully in the future, not so distant, the city back to what it was before.
“All I owe you, Matanzas:
the Library, the estuary,
have a soul and no money …
I should hope. “
