The Grand Prix of the Cubadanzón 2016 National Festival was obtained by the couple from Santiago de Cuba, made up of Aurelia Rodríguez Sánchez and Victor Perdomo Torres, after the closing ceremony of the contest this Sunday at the Casa del Danzón in Matanzas and dedicate four days for debate and Practice of gender.
The first prize was obtained by another Santiago duo, Viviana Bartelemí Avila and Jorge Corrales Rodríguez. The second laureate was shared between the representatives of Havana and Santi Spíritus, as well as the third among Granma’s and the other Spanish duet.
The award to the youngest couple fell on the Guantanameros Geidis Liannes Heredia Pérez and Yonier Baró Ramos.
Mention was also given to two finalist couples from Cienfuegos and the well-deserved acknowledgments to the personalities and institutions that made the contest possible, after three years without being performed.
The evening was enlivened by the Festival Orchestra, to seal the meeting in an exchange that included classes of dances, conferences and debates that had as central axis the defense of the musical genre also Intangible Heritage of the Nation.
The Cubadanzón Festival culminated its days of competition, after sacrificed trips and hugs for the friends with the purpose of maintaining ignited a tradition of good taste, the inheritance danzonera, that does not require ages but it encourages the dancer to keep alive the passion Between two bodies in a single compass.
