Computerize our health services

In order to socialize its achievements in the process of computerization of Cuban society, the Desoft Computer Applications Company will present several proposals at the First Meeting of the Information Technology Union of Cuba and Health, to be held on 25 and 26 May in the city of Matanzas.
Several of the works will focus on the actions of the entity to digitize the health units of the province, mainly with the products Energux and Rctel that are used in the control of the energy carriers and the telephone expenses, respectively. Also, an investigation will be socialized that was conceived for the intensive care unit of the Hospital Faustino Pérez Hernández.
The project developed for the polyclinic Carlos Verdugo, which will facilitate the recruitment of people with arterial hypertension, will mark the debate. The software was chosen by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as a reference in the Caribbean area and will provide physicians with better treatment with patients and those who do not yet have the disease.
The event will also show experiences from Spain and other regions of the country. Teachers of medicine and intellectuals will give lectures and master classes, among them the one of the Historian of the City, Dr. Ercilio Vento Canosa, on Medicine in Matanzas.
Likewise, it will have the support of the entities of the Ministry of Communications, along with Commerce, Transportation and national companies such as CITMATEL, SOFTEL and the University of Computer Science.
This is the third meeting organized by the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba in a year of foundation, to address important issues for the current Cuban society. In other areas, education and the development of free software occupied the main points.
