Engineers Reynaldo Fuentes Sardiñas and Arlene Hernández Álvarez, from Matanzas Research, Projects and Engineering Company, developed an application for mobile telephony with the geological information of Matanzas province.
Geoatlas de Matanzas, as its creators decided to name it, will be socialized among the professionals of the National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers (UNAICC) and with those experts involved in territorial planning.
Explains Fuentes Sardinas, one of the authors of the software, that anyone interested in obtaining it can collect it in digital format and free of charge at the UNAICC house, located in the city of Matanzas.
Through Geoatlas you can get reliable information about the Matanzas region and acquire real-time photos of the quarries and hydrogeological basins.
“With this application you can visualize the water levels in the province, the types of rocks, etc. The collected images allow to observe the natural outcrops of the crags and the samples that were extracted from them. This can contribute to the initial stage of new investments to know the feasibility of the foundations, materials and water capacity of the area, “said Reynaldo Fuentes Sardiñas, technical director of the Matanzas Research, Projects and Engineering Company.
The innovators of this project also presented it in the concluded International Convention of the Geosciences, with the objective of uniting the physical information of the country to conform what will be in the future the Geoatlas of Cuba.
