Growing charcoal and sawn timber production in Matanzas

The production of charcoal and sawn timber, in the units of the Agroforestry Company Matanzas, show a sustained growth, which is expected to close the year with excellent results, said Jorge Diaz Mirabal, director of the entity.
The production of vegetable charcoal to date exceeds one thousand 40 tons, a result above the technical-economic plan.
Due to the importance of this indicator in the national economy, it is expected to reach 1,400 tons, which would mean the entry of more than 350 thousand freely convertible pesos (CUC), Diaz Mirabal explained.
In the case of lumber from an annual plan of more than seven thousand cubic meters (m³) at the end of September the accumulated was over 5 thousand m³.
In the coming months the figure will be exceeded, that is the spirit of the more than six hundred workers of our entity, added the manager.
The Matanzas Agroforestry Company has an estate of 49 thousand 137 hectares and units in the municipalities of Martí, Los Arabos, Jovellanos, Colón and Matanzas.
