The rescue and conservation of heritage is an issue that worries and occupies both matanceros and those who are not. To discuss and discuss the experiences and challenges of journalistic work related to the historical and cultural values of the Athens of Cuba, began on Wednesday the II Media Workshop to communicate the Heritage. In this context, journalistic works published in the media of the province and the country related to patrimonial sites such as La Dominica, in Cárdenas, where the national flag was raised for the first time in the homeland, were shown; the Sauto theater, the Calle del Medio and the old home of the Cofigni family, in Rio.
The City Curator, Leonel Pérez Orozco, led a tour where journalists noted how the processes of restoration of the School of Trades and the Office of the Conservative, formerly Customs of Matanzas, first exponent of the neoclassical movement in Cuba.
For today a panel is planned in which details of the executions of some works of the Matanzas 325 Plan will be announced, among them the cemetery of San Carlos, with the intervention of the architect Ramón Recondo Pérez; the Botica de Triolet y Figueroa, in the voice of its director, Marcia Brito, and the Sauto theater, by the specialist Raúl Toboso.
Also will have their space in the program the officials that in the provincial Government attend the financing and the budget of the process of rehabilitation of the city and the directors of the means of the province to expose the strategies of communication related to the patrimony in each one of them.
