The presence in the polls, at the stroke of noon this Sunday, of more than 52.52 percent of the voters in the province of Matanzas, confirms the confidence of the people in the Cuban political system for its democracy and transparency.
By exercising this right, the member of the Council of State and president of the People’s Power in the territory, Tania León Silveira, said that the electoral process will be reflected in the improvement of this form of government in all instances.
In Matanzas more than 556,126 voters will vote as a reaffirmation of the reasons for defending the Socialist Revolution that guarantees greater welfare, sovereignty and development for the country.
“The quality of the vote expressed in the ballot box will be another expression of the unity of the Cubans, commitment to the legacy of the Commander in Chief and the patriotic continuity of the Revolution begun in Yara in 1868,” said León Silveira.
Data from the Provincial Electoral Commission in Matanzas, confirm that the municipalities of Union de Reyes, Perico, Calimete, Marti, Jagüey Grande, Los Arabos and Zapata Swamp report a turnout to the polls higher than the national average of 54.19 percent.
