For the third consecutive year, the members of the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Ciro Redondo, in the municipality of Martí, delivered more than one million liters of milk to the industry.
This achievement, much earlier than expected, is due to the daily effort of cooperative members to recover the arrears after the passage of Hurricane Irma, according to Caridad Rodríguez Betancourt, president of the productive way.
“In our cooperative 118 farmers carry out cattle work and they do not stop paying a day to the industry or the wineries, even though many farms are far from the points of milk collection,” said Rodriguez Betancourt.
In the cooperative there are two cooling thermos, with hygienic-sanitary conditions and veterinary services are provided. Next year we want to increase capacities, the president argued.
The CCS Ciro Redondo belongs to the political-productive movement of the million liters of milk. This movement, promoted by the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), groups in the country more than one hundred Cooperatives of Credits and Services and three of Agricultural Production.
