With the aim of evaluating the work done in 2017 to offer quality services to the population, Public Health workers in Matanzas developed their annual balance on Thursday.
The cases with symptoms of arbovirosis were among the major ailments of the previous year, while heart diseases, malignant tumors and cerebrovascular affectations represented the main causes of death in the province.
In 2017, the men and women of the sector worked constantly in priority areas such as teaching, achieving positive results in undergraduate and postgraduate studies, either in hospitals or the university itself, acknowledged the Deputy Minister of Public Health in Cuba, doctor Marcia Cobas Ruiz, who presided over the day.
He also commented that the great challenge for this 2018 is to strengthen primary care and thus try to resolve at that level about 80 percent of the recurrent problems of the sector.
Similarly, the provincial director of the sector in Matanzas, Magalis Chaviano Moreno, insisted that, at this stage, it is a priority to raise the quality of life of the population with better services, strengthen hygiene, epidemiology and microbiology actions, as well as of health regulation.
