The Socialist Republics of Vietnam and Cuba are negotiating a project to generate electricity from the marabou biomass and the promotion of energy crops, which also includes the production of food on land that is released for import substitution, as explained Celso Carpio Camaroti, Business Director of the Agroforestry Group.
The specialist said in the province of Matanzas that its main partner is the Vietnamese electricity company Tin Thanh.
“This project will mean a substantial saving of fossil fuels for the country, foreign exchange and a reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.”
The initiative is included in the national program to increase the production of renewable energy until 2030.
“The idea will allow the development of depressed areas of the Camagüey region and the intention is to rotate energy crops with agricultural crops such as maize, sorghum and soybeans,” said Carpio Camaroti.
Clean or green energy is all that energy obtained from environmentally friendly sources, it is a type of renewable energy because it is obtained from inexhaustible resources of the environment.
