The workers of the Jesús Rabí plant, in the municipality of Calimete, are redoubling their efforts to comply with the production of more than 39,000 tons of sugar in this area, according to Tomás Zamora, head of the sugar mill.
The plant takes advantage of its potential standard over 74 percent, although at the beginning of the harvest it was seven days paralyzed by excess moisture.
“However, these last three months we have shown stability and we fulfilled our plan to 91 percent, positioning ourselves as the best ingenuity in the country,” added the executive.
The daily production of sugar exceeds 300 tons, the quality of the cane improved and the brix are maintained at 18 percent favoring industrial efficiency and grinding.
After the restructuring of the harvest in Cuba as a result of the effects of Hurricane Irma, the sugar mill was increased the economic-productive plan, so that prioritizes agro-industrial efficiency in the sugar mill in the south of Matanzas.
“The biggest challenge of the sugar growers of Jesús Rabí is to sustain the use of cane sugar (RPC) above 90 percent,” argued Tomás Zamora.
