Do not turn off the fan!

We live in peace because the Cuban State guarantees electric service to an immense majority of the population and we think that everything is easy. However, the electricity we consume at home, in our workplaces, which seems completely clean, is expensive and pollutes the environment.
There is nothing more annoying in this summer than the brief eventual hours when the electric power is suddenly interrupted. That means heat, we stop receiving the air from the fan, we cannot make coffee in the stove, nor take the milkshake missed, nor watch TV, in short, a number of inconveniences. And in that moment we all think how necessary it is for our civilization the electrical energy, without meditating how much its production affects the environment.
The obtaining of electricity, its transportation and distribution generates great affectations and constitutes the production of electricity one of the fundamental causes of the destruction of the environment.
The fact is that this production emits greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, releasing large amounts of carbon dioxide puts the planet at risk, in addition to the still insufficient use of renewable energy sources.
However, reality indicates that we use more and more electricity every time. Therefore, it is essential for the country to search for new ways to obtain it. The use of renewable energy sources as part of economic and social development programs is now a priority.
Through the use of energies such as wind or sun, Cuba aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, contribute to environmental sustainability and modify the energy generation and consumption matrix.
