The first Communist Party of Cuba was founded on August 16th , 1925 by Julio Antonio Mella and Carlos Baliño, together with a group of revolutionaries. The Congress is constituted in an old house of the Calzada street, in Havana Vedado , today Hubert de Blanck Hall.
Enrique Flores, member of the Communist Party of the Republic of Mexico and representative of the Third International, led by Vladimir Ilich Lenin, participates in the historic event for the Island.
The Doctor of Historical Sciences Arnaldo Jiménez de la Cal says that it was very important to have brave revolutionaries like Carlos Baliño, follower of the ideas of José Martí, and leader Julio Antonio Mella, student and worker murdered in Mexico.
He said that the Congress had a duration of two days, with very good national organization and had the unconditional support of the Marxist-Leninist movement, spreading his ideas in order to solve the historical problems that Cuba presented. They worked for the union of the workers. The newspaper El Imparcial was the only one that published in the headline: THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA IS CREATED.
