The delegation of Matanzas to the Ninth Congress of the Defense of the Revolution Committees (CDR), made up of 31 members and five guests, received the flag that represents this event, in the Museum of the Battle of Ideas, located in Cárdenas and inaugurated by our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Carlos Rafael Miranda Martínez, national coordinator of the CDRs, handed the precious banner to the delegation and expressed their confidence that they will be worthy followers of the largest mass organization in the country.
Leydi Mara Cárdenas, the youngest of the group, with 19 years of age, read the commitment in which unity stands out as a fundamental premise around the conclave of the Cuban family and that will ratify the socialist character of the Revolution.
After ending the act, the coordinator of the CDR went to Jagüey Grande municipality and together with the neighbors, he paid tribute to Lázaro González Fagundo, the first CDR martyr killed by henchmen. Martínez Miranda said that this patriotic activity is part of the Ninth CDR Congress, aimed at keeping history alive for new and future generations.
The appointment was also attended by Teresa Rojas Monzón, first secretary of the Party in the province and member of its Central Committee.
