The Minister of Tourism of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, said that Matanzas will be declared a tourist city due to the cultural potentialities, the natural beauty of its rivers and bay, as well as the historical and patrimonial values of the 300th anniversary of the city.
The owner of the branch accompanied by the highest authorities of the Party and the Government in Matanzas territory praised the extensive investment process that takes place and toured several works that run for the 325th anniversary of the city, to be held on October 12 .
Marrero Cruz exchanged with the construction workers at the Hotel El Louvre and at the San Juan River hostel, among others, and gave suggestions aimed at improving the quality and comfort of the facilities in order to contribute to the development of local tourism in the first modern city of Cuba.
The Minister, together with Ibis Fernández Peña, delegate of MINTUR in Matanzas, toured the Sauto theater, located in the foundational square, and verified the quality of the restoration of the coliseum, which is expected to be inaugurated by the end of December.
The delegation also visited Junco Museum where you can see the exhibition entitled Matanzas through time, dedicated to the already close anniversary of the city of San Carlos and San Severino de Matanzas.
