Tamara Caridad Mesa González 21 septiembre, 2018

The design of the Dreamers phonogram, conceived by Adrián Milián as an expression of a creative initiative between Vigía, an editorial that stands out for making books with their hands, and the rock band Malas Noticias, is included among the nominees for the 2018 Cubadisco Award.

Adrián explained that the CD case is a song book with the seal of Ediciones Vigía, which includes the 12 songs recorded; and in the craft making of this book, materials such as cardboard, acrylic paints and coffee were used to pigment paper.

For Milián the nomination was a surprise and stimulates his work in the publishing house that since 1985 transcends in the city of Matanzas to defend the practice of combining poor or recycled materials and turn them into works of art and literature.

The young designer who works in the workshop located in the number one spot on Magdalena Street, in the city of rivers and bridges, commented that during the creation it was new to include technical data about the album, information not usual in the publications in the works.

The Dreamers phonogram, from the Malas Noticias band, produced by Pedro R. Rodríguez, is also in the Cubadisco nominated in the Rock category and competes in that section with proposals from the groups Tendencia, Extraño Corazón, Samsara and Bandera en Blanco.

The band Malas Noticias is usually featured at The Beatles, an establishment located on 59th Street and the first avenue in the tourist center of Varadero, where visitors to the spa town can enjoy live rock and roll shows.

According to http://lajiribilla.cu the current edition of Cubadisco, the largest musical event that takes place on the island, is superior to the precedent in terms of number, quality and diversity of the works in competition, with 241 recorded musical productions.
