As of November 12, 1997 and by agreement of the Council of Ministers, the Bank of Credit and Commerce (BANDEC) begins its financial operations in the country, with a network of almost 200 branches inherited from the former Cuba National Bank and a large clientele business
On the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the institution, Carmen Ortega Domínguez, director of BANDEC in the province of Matanzas, assesses for Radio 26 the scope they have had in the national economy and especially in that of the yumurino territory.
“In the course of these years, BANDEC has contributed to the improvement of the Cuban economic model, materialized in the granting of financing to forms of non-state management and as part of the close relationship we have with the business sector and budgeted, it has increased the delivery of loans to the agricultural and sugar sectors, as well as to the cooperative and peasant; vital part of our bank’s turnover. ”
She also emphasized the role of BANDEC with the implementation of the new banking policy, since in addition to the integral attention to the companies, they assume the financing to the population for the purchase of constructive materials and payment of labor, they administer the subsidies for people with low economic solvency and grow in the delivery of credits to self-employed workers.
Other achievements of the institution, as mentioned by the highest authority of the BANDEC in Matanzas, are the application of novel products of electronic banking in line with the scope of the new technologies of computerization and communications and in correspondence with the accelerated demand of the services they provide.
“We have ensured the opening of new business offices in several municipalities of the province in order to provide a personalized service to our main clients and to guarantee a commercial management with more quality and professionalism. All this, without lowering the guard in internal control, the fight against fraud and criminal acts and other actions aimed at providing BANDEC with reliability and security in its operations “-according to the directive.
With 36 years of interrupted work in the banking activity of the province, Carmen Ortega Domínguez, ratifies her consecration and delivery as the maximum responsible for the collectives of BANDEC in Matanzas.
On the occasion of the 21 years of life of the financial institution and loans, this November 12 the workers of the 17 branches in the territory of Matanzas commemorated the date with special morning and political and cultural events.
In the exchanges, distinctive stamps were given to workers with five, 10, 15, 20 and up to 40 years of uninterrupted service in the banking activity.
