The danger of sweet diabetes.

Tamara Caridad Mesa González 16 noviembre, 2018

If we Cubans are convinced of something, it is that a sweet is the best thing that has been invented to feel a few moments in a stage of full happiness.

But we must also realize that sugar is the eighth cause of death in the country, with greater prevalence in people over 60 years of age, according to the site infomed.cu.

On November 14, World Diabetes Day was established, back in 1991, by decision of the World Health Organization, in response to the rise in diagnoses of this disease. Its objective is to educate about the prevention and proper management of this condition, as well as about the diseases related to it and the quality of life that can be achieved with good driving.

According to statistics from the previous year almost 700 thousand people in Cuba suffer from Diabetes Mellitus, but around 30 percent of the

The population can have this disease without having been diagnosed, which constitutes a challenge for the national health system.

It is considered that in the present this disease expands product of negative alimentary habits, together with sedentary lifestyle. It is also stated that the sooner the disease is diagnosed, the greater will be avoided, among them cardiovascular and renal problems, as well as blindness.

Our Apostle said in one of his writings, the best medicine is not the one that heals, but the one that cautions and that is the purpose of the Cuban health program applied at the primary level.
