Matanzas youth reissued the funeral procession that moved the ashes of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz through the city of Matanzas on November 30, 2016.
A block of 60 students and professionals from various spheres of society began the march in the town of Ceiba Mocha, territory bordering the province of Mayabeque.
Upon arriving at the Sports Initiation School of Matanzas Luis Augusto Turcios Lima, the presidency of the Student Federation of Secondary Education (FEEM) of this center declared the commitment of young people to the legacy of Fidel.
In that place two thousand people joined, with the youth at the forefront, and continued their passage through the city. Boys and girls from elementary schools received them waving the colors of the Cuban flag.
“We are honored to be part of this reissue and we show that young people are the continuity of the Revolution,” said Leonardo Valdés, provincial commissioner of canoeing and sailing in the territory.
The caravan made stops at the places visited by Fidel Castro Ruz, such as the Vocational Pre-university Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE) Carlos Marx, the University of Medical Sciences of Matanzas, the Reformer Frau Moreno Teacher Training School and the Minerva Duarte Blood Bank , where he established an electoral college during the elections in 1974.
The tour culminated in Libertad Park where cards of the Union of Young Communists were delivered to outstanding students.On November 30th , 2016, the funeral procession that moved the ashes of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, passed through the Central Highway, in Matanzas province, on its way to immortality.
