Teatro de Las Estaciones will return to the Dominican Republic, from December 6th to 13th, to close an intense stage year there, after 12 years of its participation in the International Theater Festival of Santo Domingo.
Dramatic companies from seven countries, among which are the Teatro Los Colochos, of Mexico, the Maleza Company, of Chile, or Teatro del Cuenco, of Argentina, will join local groups such as the Compañía Nacional de Teatro, the Compañía Nacional de Teatro, Contemporary Dance, the Guloya Theater, and the Sonrisitas Theater, among other groups from the Dominican Republic, to offer performances in 13 different venues, located the same in Santo Domingo National District, Colonial City or San Juan de La Maguana.
Teatro de las Estaciones, about to turn 25 years old, will participate with the staging of El osa patico, work for all audiences according to Norge Espinosa’s dramaturgical version of Andersen’s original story, which features Zenén Calero’s designs, music of Elvira Santiago, the choreography of Liliam Padrón and staging by Rubén Darío Salazar.
Winner of the Villanueva de la Crítica Prize for the best production for children in 2006, El patico … has already been applauded in countries such as France and the United States.
The functions will be in the auditorium of the Mauricio Báez Cultural Center, Villa Juana, on December 7 and 8 at five in the afternoon.Zenén Calero and Rubén Darío Salazar, will also give the Design and Art Direction Workshop at the Puppet Theater, aimed at Dominican professionals and amateurs who bet on the universe of figures.
