The vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Inés María Chapman Waugh, checked the behavior of water resources, physical planning and sanitation and water supply in the province of Matanzas.
The leader analyzed the compliance of the urban regulations in the territory, mainly in the tourist corridor Matanzas-Varadero-Cárdenas and in Ciénaga de Zapata.
In this sense, Chapman Waugh insisted on going to the essence of the problems and complies with the country’s policy, which foresees in 2021 eradicating illegalities.
In addition, pointed out the need to inform people in all possible ways on what can or cannot be done in urban planning, streamline procedures and responses to the population and improve the working conditions of technicians and planning inspectors physical.
Also talked about, how to change the systems of work to gain in efficiency and that the groups of confrontation to the illegalities work correctly.
During her visit, the vice president visited works to face the floods during extreme weather events in the Ciénaga de Zapata; the rehabilitation of the left protection dam of the Soplillar Channel and the construction of the Bagá Canal, a place where the waters of the province of Cienfuegos drain.
Likewise, in the peninsula it verified the operation of two water desalination plants that satisfy the liquid demand in the communities of Bermeja and Helechal.
In the municipality of Cárdenas, he learned about the implementation of the housing policy, the eradication of the illegalities of natural persons and the aqueduct and sewage system.
