For the second time in the last seven years, the western province of Matanzas has been honored with the designation of the venue for the award ceremony of the First May National Journalism Competition, a contest instituted more than two decades ago.
From four to six of April, the Jury and the winners of an event considered among the main activities that celebrate the International Workers’ Day will be held in Matanzas.
In the José White concert hall, at eight o’clock on the night of April 5th , the winners will receive their prizes in radio, television and in the flat press, selected among a figure higher than the 800 communicative proposals submitted by contestants.
One of the most relevant moments will occur when the Special Grand Prize of the XXI Congress of the (CTC) is announced, which will be granted, according to the call, to the work of better conceptual reflection of the great appointment of the workers Cubans, set from April 20th to 24th , in Havana.
On day four at noon, the winners of the May Day Journalism Competition will arrive in Matanzas, who, after settling in the CTC Convention Center accommodation villa, will visit areas of the historic center of the city of Matanzas and at The night will enjoy a tribute to the jury at the Athens Cultural Center.
On the second day of activities, they will make a tour of facilities of the destination of Varadero, in order to check the hotel and extra-hotel development of the largest beach resort of Sol and Playa de Cuba.
It was in 2012 the last time of the celebration of this award in Matanzas, a multi-award-winning province in this contest.
