In a solemn ceremony held on March 29, in front of the sculptural group of the Parque de la Libertad, in the city of Matanzas, the delegation of this western province was delegated to the XXI Congress of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), whose final sessions will take place at the Palace of Conventions in Havana from April 20th to 24th .
After a cultural moment and the laying of a wreath before the historic statue of José Martí, Isdalys Rodríguez, secretary general of the CTC in the territory, received the banner from Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bureau and owner of the Trade Union Center in Cuba.
By handing over the flag, the leader summoned the yumurina representation to be a carrier of the challenges that Matanzas has in fulfilling its economic plans and to maintain the tradition of struggle of its working class with greater revolutionary conviction and optimism in victory.
On behalf of the delegation, composed of 86 members, of them, 85 delegates and one retired as a guest, Rocío del Carmen García, the youngest member of the payroll, and affiliated to the Energy and Mines Union, read the commitment of the Matanzas´s workers in greeting to the great appointment.
In the act were also the highest authorities of the Party and the Government of the province, other leaders, as well as students and workers from centers near the central park of the town head.
Prior to this event, the exchange of preparation of the 85 delegates to the conclave, chaired by Guilarte de Nacimiento and Carmen Rosa López, second secretary of the National CTC, took place at the headquarters of the Provincial Committee of the CTC in Matanzas.
In detail, Isdalys Rodríguez presented and analyzed the summary report of the claims and claims of the workers of Matanzas during the various stages of the organic process of the Congress, with special emphasis on the issues that are resolved by sectors, which are given treatment and the solution slopes.
In keeping with this aspect, the head of the Trade Union Center in Cuba reminded the delegates that they are carriers of a high responsibility and commitment to the grassroots organizations that elected them and that the Congress is the fruit of an intense year of debates.
“Our task is to reiterate the criteria and concerns of the workers there, to discuss them where those who have the solutions to the problems or at least the answers will be. In addition, it must be a moment of internal criticism and objective analysis of the integral functioning of the trade union movement “-she noted.
The member of the Political Bureau of the Party stressed that among the priorities of the conclave are the issues related to import substitution, how to increase exports and also evaluate non-state employment, he recalled how the country’s leadership has shown the will to continue consolidating it and for this a group of measures are adopted that make this kind of work more flexible, but always under the law.
During the dialogue with the Matanzas representation, the head of the Cuban Trade Union Confederation highlighted that the XXI Congress will be a contributing, combative and enthusiastic event. “This will not be a meeting of slogans, but to ratify commitments with achievements and demonstrations to achieve the strengthening of the Trade union and the sustainable Socialism to which we aspire. ”
