Vigía Editions, stamp founded in the city of Matanzas 34 years ago, participates in the XXII International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2019 (FILSD 2019), in the Dominican Republic, with the most recent titles in its catalog.
Agustina Ponce Valdés, director of the institution, said that in the year 2000 Vigía attended the Dominican event for the first time and after four years of absence returns to present the manufactured creations that distinguish it.
In the number one venue of Magdalena Street, in the city of rivers and bridges, books are born that combine literary and plastic arts for the singular visuality that derives from manufacturing. Among the most recent created copies are Conversando con Velia, by Marilyn Bobes; The city that I love, by Loreley Rebull; and Compass of fantasy, by Mayra Sablón, books that are included among those that, with the lamp as a symbol, represent Cuban letters in FILSD 2019.
Yisaimerunise Martínez, a Vigía worker who participates in the Dominican event, commented that the XXII edition of the Fair recognizes its slogan Reading is knowledge, a principle to which the Matanzas publishing house contributes with unique proposals for its handmade origin.
According to https://cerodigital.com.do, the Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2019 has the purpose of promoting reading and culture, and began on the 26th to extend until May 5 in the Colonial City.
In this edition the Dominican literary event recognizes Puerto Rico as guest of honor and is dedicated to the Dominican writer Virgilio Díaz Grullón.
