Las Estaciones Theater celebrated its 25 years in Mexico, with the staging of The Little Girl Watering the Basil and the Inquisitive Prince, a one-person show for puppets and actor; as well as A girl with wings, scenic walk for the poetry for children of Dora Alonso.
The Fifth of May International Festival invited Las Estaciones of Cuba, along with other groups from Argentina, the United States, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, Costa Rica and the host Mexico, said Rubén Darío Salazar, director of the group based in the city of Matanzas.
In addition to the staging, the tour of Las Estaciones, which began on the 30th last to conclude today, showed its educational value in workshops such as the one offered this Monday by the acclaimed designer Zenén Calero, on puppet construction, in Ajalpan municipality.
Salazar published in his profile of the social network Facebook that in the House of the Mexican Puppets in Puebla, they performed the closing function of the tour coordinated by Professor Lizette Castro and the Fifth of May International Festival; and explained that before a public delivered, in a magical atmosphere, a full room offered the function 201 of the work based on a popular Andalusian story collected by Federico García Lorca at the dawn of the twentieth century.
In this 2019 the Festival commemorated the 157th anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, epic Mexican victory before French forces, which every year is honored from the culture by the local population.Teatro de las Estaciones was born in August 1994 in the city of Matanzas, and to celebrate its 25 years of existence, designed an intense program that includes staging, premieres, book and audiovisual presentations, international meetings and tours inside and outside Cuba.
