Varadero is the venue for the ninth time of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit in both sexes in the three courts in the vicinity of the Barceló Solymar Hotel, which will define the winning couples on Sunday.
On this occasion 13 couples of women and 15 of men are registered, with favoritism for the duplax of Cuba, the United States of America and Canada, which have been the three countries with the most medals in the history of these competitions.
There is great expectation to see the Creole couple of Leila Martinez and Mailén Días, who is looking for their fourth consecutive success this year, after prevailing in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Cayman Islands and Nicaragua. To get the first place now in Varadero, this duo would implant a brand for these Circuits.
It would also be the third victory for Leila at Playa Azul, since she had previously won in 2014 with Lianma Flores and last year along with her current partner, Mailén Díaz.
Among men, Cuba will have a quality binomial in Sergio González and Luis Enrique Reyes from Matanzas, who this year have won bronze, silver and gold medals, in that order, in the contests held.
