With the purpose of following up the 18 agreements approved in the Tenth Congress of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and its implementation in the base structures in blocks and delegations, whose new process will be developed from next June, a fruitful exchange was carried out with directives from the provinces of Matanzas and Mayabeque and members of the National Secretariat of the FMC, headed by its general secretary, Teresa Amarelle Boué.

The also member of the Council of State with her homologue in Matanzas, Odalys García Pérez, referred to the 60th anniversary of the women’s organization and the need to transform the problems into solutions. He also exhorted to take care of the personal example of the directives in the thirteen municipalities of the Matanzas territory and assimilate the criticism; and to maintain a good preparation in order to carry out a better process with a massive participation of the family.

During the meeting Amarelle referred to the work of the federated women in the community in a very complex international context, in which the economic, commercial and financial blockade to Cuba and the threats of the president of the United States against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela intensifies. The secretary of the FMC made mention of the application of chapter 3 of the Helms-Burton Illegal and Inhuman Law and condemned this monster that will never be able to get away with it because here there is a people determined not to let themselves be snatched from the conquests achieved in 60 years.

In line with this, the FMC leader in Cuba recalled the words of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Raul Castro Ruz, during the Women’s Congress, in which he affirmed that today more than ever we need the strength and morals of women to face the moments that lie ahead.

In the exchange, Olga Lidia González Rodríguez, member of the Provincial Bureau of the PCC, meant that women are capable of everything and have taken a step forward shoulder to shoulder in revolutionary struggles, with that spirit of combat … With their love for Homeland and family will continue to make Revolution. Neither that president of the United States and his lackeys, who really do not know that it is a united people, will be able to damage what we have.
