The company Danza Libre de Guantánamo will participate in the inaugural gala of the Open Space Season for Dance and the Show, TEADE 2019, which will be held from July 7th to 14th in Matanzas.
The event becomes usual every summer in Matanzas and arrives with the inaugural piece Nueva vida, choreographed by the dancer José Ángel Carret, its artistic director.
Danza Libre during the 8th edition of TEADE will share the most recent of its repertoire with the Matanzas public, said Elio Oreste Reina Figueredo, a young dancer at the head of the group.
“This event is very important because it allows the exchange between teachers, directors and dancers, it is also an essential space to teach and learn, especially the new generations that are forged in the art schools of the country. The new quarry will be able to receive classes of Cuban and international teachers “.
The company from Guantánamo defends the aesthetic lines of contemporary and modern dance, as well as folkloric, and new trends in the art of movement. Elio Orestes Reina, who was the winner last year of the National Contest of Choreography and Interpretation Danzan Dos de Matanzas announced that for this season of TEADE, her group will show their artistic work in the different galas.
“Among the works that we will present will be the winner of the recently completed Solo Solo Contest held recently in the Cuban capital. The female performance prize this year was for our dancer Yuneidis Martínez Rodríguez. ”
Currently the company, founded 29 years ago, is integrated by a young collective that is committed to letting dance flow freely through the Cuban and world stages.
