The Business Group of Sowing and Marketing of Sugar and its derivatives and the Directorate of Heritage in Matanzas sponsored the twentieth Annual Meeting for the Protection of the Sugar Heritage in the province.
The José Smith Comas Museum, located in the municipality of Cárdenas, welcomed children, young people and professionals from various sectors.
The event began with the exhibition of stories and investigative works of authorship of children and young people living in communities surrounding old sugar mills and sugar mills in the province.
Engineers, historians and museologists spoke about the history and current affairs of several centrals, their customs and historical legacy that leave culture and heritage in Matanzas.
The awarded works will participate next November 4th in the National Heritage Event, in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the city of Havana.
