The National Circus of Cuba will perform at the Velasco cinema from July 24th to 26th in progress with usual functions at 8:30 at night. On the 27th and 28th the circus will open its doors starting at 4:30 pm.
Mario Rodríguez Naite, specialist and film critic of the provincial Cinema Center of Matanzas informed Radio 26 that the Velasco cinema was elected for the circus presentations, since the venue has the technical conditions for the development of the functions.
The Trompoloco tent of the National Circus of Cuba was erected as the epicenter of the circus activity on the Island with the Summer Galas. The appointment has ramifications in other provinces such as Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara, Guantanamo and Bayamo.
The National Circus on this occasion brought together groups of thirteen countries, representing Mexico, Costa Rica, Russia, Venezuela, China and Germany in the routines of tape, juggling, pulsed, pole dance, cloth and trapeze, among others.
On the other hand, the Cuban presence is represented by more than 50 artists in the modalities of balance, acrobatics, magic, hula hup, trapeze, juggling with diabolics and distortions.
This year the Summer Galas of the National Circus of Cuba joined the celebrations for the 500 years of Havana. Lourdes Alfonso, director of the provincial Cinema Center in Matanzas, said that the visit of the circus in the city of Yumurina calls for family enjoyment of this summer.
