Matanzas Nights: can you “throw a little aisle”?

Tamara Caridad Mesa González 28 julio, 2019

Listeners of the program To take into account, of Radio 26, they expressed their complacency about the revival of the city of #Matanzas as a tourist destination. And they also expressed concern about the lack of nightclubs and shows in the center of the city, which can be accessed on foot, because at night there is no state urban transport program.

I extend beyond summer.

There are very defined daytime recreation concepts, although during the week, in the Plaza de la Vigía there is a boring tranquility and not their potentialities are exploited. For its part, Narváez Street has much to do … but, as some will say, “defends”, with indoor options during the day and the San Juan boardwalk at night.

However, the most notable is the lack of fun places for young people and adults; say dance halls, cabarets, theme parks or amusement parks.

It is as if the tourist destination were for future years.

Maybe someone conceives the Matanzas as Santurrones, but the truth is that the population and tourists want to have a good time and

Cabarés do not exist in places close to urban hotels and rental houses in this environment, or where the main population center of the Matanzas, Versailles and Pueblo Nuevo neighborhoods lives. Only the self-employed with their peculiarities have taken the lead, because the spaces that work after 11:00 at night are counted.

There are projects, they say, but I do not see them built specifically and local artistic talent continues to give “tumbos” with sporadic and unprofitable functions.

The need to increase tourism, as an essential sector of the Matanzas economy, demands a revision of the priorities in that sense. Anyway, for now the summer is going well, with our beaches and outskirts. We will see later how we move forward.
