In the first half of the year, the Territorial Division of the Telecommunications Company of Cuba (ETECSA) increased mobile and fixed telephony services, as transcended in the balance sheet of the entity.
According to its communicator, Mayrelis Leiseca, five radio bases were installed in the towns of Cárdenas, Matanzas, Juan Gualberto Gómez and Bacunayagua.
“Successful, likewise, was the introduction of the fourth generation of mobile phone technologies in Varadero and Cárdenas as a test and that today benefits more than five thousand customers.”
Also between January and July, 1,446 capacities were delivered to the residential segment of eight municipalities in the province of Matanzas.
“48 public stations were increased for a density of 5.06 public telephones per thousand inhabitants,” added the communicator.
Among the investments are the installation of three new integral cabinets that will increase the capacity of the basic telephony by two thousand 808 and those of data services in the Popular Councils of Colon Oeste, René Fraga and Naranjal Norte, the latter of the city of Matanzas.
