From classic to folk, Summer spiral

Tamara Caridad Mesa González 16 agosto, 2019

Some of the more than twenty children and adolescents of the Summer Workshop repeat their participation again and again. The dance summons and the teacher Lilian Padrón makes the dreams of the dancers come true and through classes and choreographies provide an always grateful option in this hot August.

For two weeks and, without many conditions to do so, the teachers of the Danza Espiral Company and already regular guests such as the dancer Antonio Figueroa, of the Afrocuba folk group, as well as musicians of both cultural institutions shared this initiative that for 30 years encourages the Taste for dance art.

Days that in addition to technical, ballet, folk and folk dance classes taught at the headquarters of the Spectrum Circus and the House of Culture, both in the neighborhood of Pueblo Nuevo, the youth performed in various areas of the city of Matanzas such as the Colonial Courtyard and the Vigía Square.

To this is added the presentation in Cayo Ramona, in Ciénaga de Zapata, grateful for the spectators and expected by the dancers who arrive in the south of Matanzas with the enthusiasm to share what they have learned and enjoy such a beautiful place combining nature with the movement of Dance.

The closing of the Spiral Dance Summer Workshop ended at the Velasco de Matanzas theater, a gala dedicated to Fidel in which all the new dancers participated, including students from the Alfonso Pérez Isaac Vocational School of Art, specializing in ballet and dance, so the closure went from classical to folkloric in a creative spiral.
