Almost two months of school vacations came to an end and again – as has happened since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution – on the first Monday of September a new school year begins.
Children, teenagers, young people, adults and even senior citizens, from all over Cuba, arrive on this inaugural day with a backpack full of books and dreams because they know they own a place in the classrooms of the various centers of general education , sporty, artistic and special.

To receive them today and the rest of the long teaching period are the educators, men and women able to take on the challenge of educating and instructing on scientific and pedagogical bases.
The experience of some and the youth of others merge in the cloisters of these times, the direct heirs of those Volunteer Teachers, of the literacy teachers, of the contingents of educators formed by the Cuban Revolution to erase lack of culture, ignorance from our soil and the obscurantism that plunges the people.
