The IV Foreign Investment Forum will take place in the context of the 37th Havana International Fair FIHAV 2019, an initiative aimed at promoting and facilitating meetings between companies interested in investing in Cuba, and the Island agencies in charge of priority sectors for attraction of foreign capital.
According to the Travel Trade Caribbean communication, convened by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex), together with the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and ProCuba, the event will take place on November 6-7, in the EXPOCUBA Fairgrounds.
When assessing impacts from previous versions, Déborah Rivas, general director of Foreign Investment of the Mincex, announced at a conference that during the 2017 and 2018 meetings, capital for more than two billion dollars was committed.
The directive meant that investment remains at the center of the interests of the sectors identified as strategic for the development of the economy and it is intended that this forum contribute to continue incorporating more capital into the growth of those sectors and activities.
He argued that the main purpose of the forum is to promote meetings between Cuban and foreign companies before the Havana International Fair, so that during the event the first business contacts are already established. The context of this Forum will present the new Foreign Investment Opportunity Portfolio 2019-2020.
Panels and presentations on topics of interest will also be developed.The first edition of this initiative took place at FIHAV 2016, an occasion that brought together more than four thousand exhibitors from 60 countries, in an appointment held from October 31st to November 4th.
