Recall in Matanzas Countrymen Congress in Arms.

The Matanzas peasantry recalled the 61st anniversary of the First Peasant Congress in Arms with the commitment to produce food amid the current energy situation in the country.
According to Modesto Olegario Moure García, president of the National Association of Small Farmers, clinics and rural schools were repaired; historic centers and sites were decorated in greeting to date.
However, the greatest contribution of the sector is to fulfill its commitments in the production of vegetables, food, milk, grains, small livestock and cane as an expression of the sector’s support for the Revolution.
On September 21st, 1958 the Countrymen Congress on Arms was held in Soledad de Mayarí, chaired by then Commander Raúl Castro with the objective of incorporating the rural masses into the revolutionary process.
