The director of the Sauto Theater, Kalec Acosta Hurtado, told Radio 26 that the cultural program for the coming months, after the opening of the Theater, is conceived in advance.
This October 12th, date that marks the 326 anniversary of the city, Sauto will open its doors, after a capital repair backed by 99 percent quality and attachment to the original work.
Acosta Hurtado explained that an exorbitant number of national and foreign artists requested to date to appear in the Matanzas Coliseum once opened.
Companies such as the National Ballet of Cuba, Acosta Dance and the cast of the dancer Susana Pons were among the first interested in performing in the theater. Other artists such as Ivette Cepeda and Descemer Bueno will also arrive in Matanzas to offer the best of their creations.
The restoration of this jewel of the neoclassical was a constant motive of interest and concern of great art lovers’ worldwide and relevant figures of culture.
Although there are no details about the international artists that will perform in Sauto, it is known that many are interested in performing in one of the best theaters in Latin America, after its constructive renovation.
Other collateral activities will also integrate the Sauto program for the coming months, according to Acosta Hurtado, the visitor will be able to enjoy the museum objects that were found and rescued in the enclave and that will be exposed to the public as bastions of historical documentation in the Matanzas culture .They will also have a series of literature that will enable interested parties to study the wonders that the Theater contains in its centuries of art and history.
Sauto becomes these days the epicenter of cultural news in Cuba and the world. It will open doors and raise its curtains on October 12, coinciding with the founding of the city of San Carlos and San Severino de Matanzas.
