The Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), Army Corps General Joaquin Quintas Solá, exchanged with the more than 1,500 young people during the 2019 Student Bastion developed at the University of Matanzas as part of his preparation for defense.
Quintas Solá, accompanied by the Head of the Central Army, Brigadier General Andrés Laureano González Brito, and the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, Liván Izquierdo Alonso, toured the areas in which the young people trained, including the shooting range with reduced caliber, arming and disarming weapons and technical issues, among other specialties.
The high officer of the FAR described it as highly positive that this mass of students made this special day dedicated to the 61st anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and its top leader, Fidel Castro, who on November 25th marks the third anniversary of his physical disappearance He congratulated the young people for their unconditionality to the Homeland and the decision to continue preparing to defend it against wind and tide.
The political act began with the militia oath and the formation of the Territorial Troops Militia units for the first year students of the different careers. On the other hand, a melee exercise was carried out by special FAR troops, demonstrating skills and dexterity in order to face any enemy and defeat him.
