The Cuban Tourism Day became another day of frank solidarity behavior for the workers of the famous spa, men and women of several hotel facilities who decided to donate blood on November 20, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the National Institute of the Tourist industry.
Marlén Alemañy, general secretary of the provincial Union of Hospitality and Tourism Workers, pondered the altruistic gesture of several of the Blue Beach hotels, among which the Blau Varadero, Starfish Cuatro Palmas and the Royalton Hicacos stood out.
The union leader meant that employees of the so-called leisure industry transcend not only in blood donations, but also in the voluntary delivery of tips, money destined to health programs for the fight against cancer.
Amaurys Echavarría, general secretary of the Trade Union Bureau of the Royalton Hicacos hotel, expressed satisfaction with the massive response always given to the call to donate blood to save lives, an altruistic gesture of those who said he felt very proud.
The young union leader mentioned the commitment of the Cubanacán installation to reach the economic goals planned for this year, despite the negative consequences of the US blockade on tourist flows to the nation.
