The National Silos Company (EMSIL) accumulates six years without registering accidents at work or roads in its eleven basic business units, located in different provinces of the country and the General Directorate, located in the city of Matanzas, which highlights the Compliance with the established norms, precisely when in November the National Day of Safety and Health at Work is carried out with the motto: Arrive at your destination without a road accident.
Yensi Gutiérrez Amaya, occupational health and safety specialist at EMSIL, explained that the Conference had the purpose of maintaining safe and hygienic conditions in each work area and that employers, direct bosses and workers, become more aware of the need of complying with safety regulations.
Consequently, actions for the prevention of accidents at work and occupational diseases have been promoted.
Recall that the Occupational Health and Safety policy includes responsibility at all levels of the National Health System, which holds provincial and municipal directors, administrators, union leaders and workers in general responsible, who must be engaged in continuous improvement regarding Occupational Health and Safety.
This management covers the prevention of incidents, accidents at work, occupational diseases and other damages to health, as well as in the workplace and environment, and emphasizes the special protection of women, youth and workers with reduced work capacity .Likewise; it involves carrying out periodic medical check-ups and training of workers.
