Tourism workers committed to honoring Fidel’s legacy.

Three years after his physical disappearance, men and women employed in the leisure industry of the western province of Matanzas reiterated their commitment to continue honoring the legacy of the eternal Commander Fidel Castro Ruz, who died on November 25th, 2016.

“We have the immense honor of being a sector admired by our Historical Leader of the Revolution. He asked us to be the engine of the Cuban economy and we cannot fail him. We have to live up to the moment we are, ”said Mailén Alemañy Santos, general secretary of the provincial Bureau of the Union of Hospitality and Tourism Workers.

Alemañy Santos highlighted the leading role of those employed in this strategic sector, called to take advantage of the tourist hike season to meet or approach the economic plans of this year. «You have to give your maximum every day, bring out existing efficiency reserves in each place,» he urged.

He said that hotels such as the Sol Palmeras, founded on May 10, 1990, are reminded with special admiration of «Fidel, who on the day of the inauguration asked them to be an example of quality and excellence and they have not disappointed,» he said.

He highlighted the optimal performance of facilities such as Starfish Cuatro Palmas, Royalton Hicacos and Iberostar Varadero, referents in an integral task that others should imitate.
