The last issue of the Opus Habana Magazine will be presented this Thursday, December 12th at 6 p.m. in the José White de Matanzas Concert Hall.
The magazine’s editorial team arrives in the city to launch the publication that this time dedicates its lyrics to the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana and was presented last November 8th, in Calle de Wood of the Plaza de Armas, located in the Historic Center of the capital city.
The commemorative number, said Argel Calcines, general editor of the magazine, is evidence of that Havana dreamed up by the intellect and poetics of Doctor Eusebio Leal Spengler, his Historian.
Opus Habana testifies to the restoration work of Old Havana, thus it appears printed on the first page of each issue that will reflect its work of the Office of the Historian in the conservation and restoration of the oldest heritage of the city.
In addition, it fulfills a broad social fingering function, as it is not only a bulwark of cultural promotion, but also seeks to return to the community the buildings with the functional capacity for which they were conceived, namely: housing, institutions, work center , art galleries or cultural centers.
The recent circulation proposes an article by the Matanzas writer Alfredo Zaldívar about the work of the plastic artist Sergio Roque Ruano in the Sala Matanzas White.
The Master in Fine Arts, Sergio Roque Ruano leads the art gallery in the White Room of Matanzas that remains open to the public throughout the week, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, located in Contreras street of this three-year-old city.
Sculpture, painting, drawing, engraving and ceramics are of the plastic expressions that host this headquarters that bears his name and also contains the work of other Matanzas authors.
