On the afternoon of this Tuesday, January 23rd, the Gala Concert for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the National Symphony Orchestra was held at the Sauto Theater in Matanzas, National Monument.
The occasion also deserved the official delivery of the National Music Award to Maestro Ildefonso Acosta, who for health reasons did not attend the ceremony; however, the award was taken to the abode of the Guitarist Master. Acosta was awarded this National Prize this 2019.
The flutist and clarinetist Niurka González Núñez inaugurated the day with the Joaquin Clerch Autumn Concert for Fluta and Orchestra, accompanied by the National Symphony, who masterfully directs the Matanzas Enrique Pérez Mesa.
The peak of the afternoon was in the voice of Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez, who interpreted classics from his repertoire such as: Little Daytime Serenade, El Necio and Angel for a Final, among others. Faced with the enormous ovation of the Yumurian public, Silvio returned to the stage and presented to the audience another of his songs, unexpected for the moment.
To the rhythm of the Matanzas guaguancó of the outstanding exponents of the rumba in the city: Los Muñequitos de Matanzas finished this concert gala where the authorities of the provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the provincial Council of the Performing Arts and the provincial Directorate of Culture honored to the musicians present in this invitation to good taste and good music.
